GrassRoots Education and Action Team (GREAT)
GREAT is the issues advocacy and community education arm of Brazos Progressives.
GREAT is dedicated to energizing citizen involvement in local governance to create a more holistic and diverse community that serves the interests of all.

Our Goals:
- To create visibility for issues important to progressives such as greenways, alternative transportation, economic and racial diversity in housing development, living wage, walkable communities, and more.
- To provide citizen education on issues during local elections through candidates' forums and surveys.
- To provide training in grassroots advocacy and community building.
- To encourage and develop citizen participation in local government (running for office, serving on boards and committees, etc.).
- To create a citizens watch for local councils, courts and committees that will seek to keep citizens aware of important issues and decisions that may affect them.
